COMPETITION TYRES FOR DRY CONDITIONS

Our products are designed to match specific targets defined by the car manufacturers and by the type of competition in which Pirelli is involved. They are characterized by:
- External profile and internal structure to maximize the dimensions of the contact area, in all the driving phases.
- Belt geometries and materials to optimize the lateral force transmission generated during cornering.
- Tread specifications with different compound to perfectly adapt to every combination of track surface and temperature.

    PRESSURE

    The tyres have always to be inflated over the minimum inflation pressure suggested in order to guarantee their safe use.

    Please always refer to the local Pirelli dealer or technical representatives to get indications on the main characteristics of the products and how to identify the correct working conditions.

    We recommend to use only Dry air or Nitrogen to inflate tyres in order to avoid unexpected variations in pressure while running.

    TEMPERATURE

    Temperatures measured on the tread are an excellent indicator for understanding if the tyre compound is working in its own ideal range and for optimising the setup parameters, such as suspensions geometry and stiffness.
    Measuring the temperature on the surface of a tyre, the delta between the inside and the outside should be max 20°C.
    The delta between the temperatures measured on front and rear tyres should be max 25°C.

    TREAD TYPE

    The range of our Dry tyres can be recognized by the letter D followed by the compound chosen between the available:

    HH – SUPER-HARD
    H – HARD
    M – MEDIUM
    S - SOFT
    SS - SUPER-SOFT

    DIMENSIONS

    On the sidewall of our competition tyres you can read its characteristic dimension. For example:

    C / D - d

    C = Nominal section width [mm]
    D = Nominal external diameter [mm]
    d = Nominal diameter of the rim [in]
